Hey all, Is it possible to have a vertual mac. If so is there a web site whare I can go find one? I would like to play aaround with one if possible. Thanks.
Matthew
yes, but its very illegal and you have to be pretty determined if you want it to work.
I don't know if this would work or not, but when I had my mac, they put virtual box with ubuntu in it for me to use. I have no clue if this would work for a mac or not.
Ok well I have a normal pc and I want to setup a vertual mac. I can't really afford a real mac so I want to setup a mac as a vertual mac machine. I hope this helps.

Couldn't you purchase a copy of the OS and then use VMWare to install it? I'd imagine their would be some incompatibilities but it might work.
From what I understand apple tries pretty hard to prevent Mac OS X from running on a normal PC. For one OS X boots using EFI (extensible firmware interface) rather than the bios, which might introduce problems from the start. I really don't know anything about the differences between the two boot processes, but I do know that Apple is dedicated to the exclusivity of their products (save for a few such as iTunes and Safari). People got OS X working on a regular PC, but even if you do manage to do whatever they did (which would require lots of patients and likely lots of sighted assistance) you probably wouldn't get any sound. Google around for more real info.
Even if you buy a copy of osx, it doesn't matter it is technically still considered illegal, why who knows it is quite stupid it is all still intel hardware. However like anything made my man in software, there will always be a way around it. And So there is. However I don't know what it is because I haven't figured out how to do it because I have no need to do it. However there is no sense in buying leopard because a serial number is not required so I'm not seeing what they are concerned about in terms of licensing. It is like buying Suse from best buy, you could do it but anyone who does is stupid when it can be downloaded. So why buy mac osx when it can be downloaded. Both suse and leopard are dvd's, both leopard do not require serials, and hey, looky, both suse and leopard are unix based! But good luck trying to get it to run it is quite hard, regardless of the illegal issue. If you want to google, google for hackintosh, and you'll probably find a guide. What you'd need to do is find a torrent or something of leopard it will be 4.7 some gigs in a dmg format yes I know it is a pain to deal with these on a pc. As far as emulators are concerned you could use pear pc, but this is inaccessible, which is kind of funny because if installing mac on windows is illegal then a company who is selling a proprietary piece of software called pear pc is selling it illegally. LOL! They are legally selling software that is illegal to use apparently. Go figure this thing is stupid which is why most of us techies ignore laws and shit. So my advice screw the law, you know as well as all of us they will never find out who you are, because there is no registration, no nothing. grab some torrents and mess around, no harm can be done.
ps, don't listen to any of the law boosters on here they just bend over backwards pumping out cash to stupid causes, like those for cancer but yet people are still dying.
Happy Hacking!
Um, cody? Did u mean law abiding?
Do anyone know what means kalyway? I downloaded kalyway 10.5.2 - it should be some kind of os x.
But supported hardware is limited.
Nope, never heard of it.
Whare do you get t from?
I googled some tutorial.
Good site is www.insanelymac.com or something like that.
you might be able to hack a VMWare box up but I dont' understand why anyone would want to run a virtual mac in the first place. I understand that cash can be tight but unless you have at least 3 gigs of ram with xp and you have stripped it you won't be able to get good performance out of both boxes when both are running. I mean, the host and the virtual. But 3 gb of ram does not mean vista should be the host by any means in fact if you are running I seriously think you should get your head examined.
